Public read

Feb 9–15, 2026 in brief

This issue is best read as a selective deterioration week centered on protest, repression, and political legitimacy stress rather than armed conflict escalation. The analytical story of W07 is a Senegal-led coercive confrontation, a nationally resonant protest mobilisation in Serbia, and a clearly visible protest escalation in Albania, alongside a monitoring layer that continued to widen while also registering cooling-off movement.

Outside the lead case, W07 also produced publication-grade deterioration cases in Serbia and Albania, while the watch layer widened with five new entries and three cooling-off moves.
